Camden, London

I recently visited London, well Camden to be exact, as a sort of Midlands break from it all. With everything that has been going down in the UK recently, it can be quite easy to forget that among other things, UK does have a few surprises in tow.

Camden is one of my favourite parts of London. It's always lively and especially on this summer day, it was filled with happy crowds, good food and great company. The BEST part of Camden, of course, are the endless food stalls. UGH, the thought of it makes me want to go back. I am always a sucker for good food, I mean come on, aren't we all? Anyway, among my discoveries and a whole day of stuffing my face, I am going to recommend my top three's

Mother Clucker

MMMM. Fast Food, Fried Chicken at it's finest. Covered in a thick coating with a kick to it, even the fries too had a sort of spicy Peri Peri twang to it. It probably wasn't the best choice to devour when temperatures were scorching but I just couldn't resist. What can I say, I'm a sucker for spicy food. Several bottles of water later, I am stuffed and completely in love. I would definitely recommend taking a gander to this stall, I promise you, you won't regret it!

Halloumi Fries

I didn't even know this was a thing not that long ago and since then, I have ALWAYS heard good things about them. Cheese + Fries = happiness in a cardboard bowl. Even if I was waddling along in Camden, I passed the stall and I wasn't going to not try them. Topped off with their special sauce, some pomegranate seeds and mint leaves complimented and flavoured every single bite exquisitely. I still dream of that fateful day! Loving the little side so much, I even got my own recipe together and make them at home. Another favourite to try, if you ever pass by, PLEASE try it if you haven't done so already.

Snow Cones

Even more full than before, on a hot day, this is NOT a comfortable combination. Best thing is, there is so much to see in Camden, so you walk off all that food in moments. I love how diverse everything is at Camden, the different food stalls the street stops with all sorts of fun trinkets and treats. The bustling nature kept my friend and I busy for the day. Sweating and continually grasping for the water bottle, eventually (once our huge meals settled), we decided, hot weather calls for snow cones! One of my favourite cooling treats. Could you believe my friend had never had one in her life? Baffled, I made her purchase this tiny treat. Fresh strawberries topped with flavoured syrup and some condense milk and of course, the pièce de résistance, some cooling ice. I'd say it was the perfect end to our afternoon.

I can't wait for my next trip down. Next time, I'll go to different stalls for you guys. For now, Happy Friday and may your meals always taste delicious!

Lots of Love,
Alexis Anne xoxo
